Willie
Good ole Willie sees with eyes that know so well
that pain and joy go hand in hand.
The road to heaven often leads you straight through hell.
It isn't hard to understand: it's like this whole thing's been planned.
Willie knows the kind of nights we've all been through,
Willie knows the kind of love that's really true,
And, yes, he knows the crazy things that lovers do.
I guess that's 'cause ole Willie's crazy, too.
My friend Willie sings of good times and the bad
with cowboy charm and country grace.
He'll laugh and say this life's the best he's ever had
as weathered lines begin to trace, the map of Texas on his face
